On December 28, 29 and 30, the educator Iordana Tsikou implemented educational activities on the subject of reading as part of the program “Strengthening reading in rural Prespa”, which is supported by the Municipality of Prespa with funding from the Ministry of Education, Religion & Sports.
The action was adressed to children from 3 to 12 years old. On the first day, the book “The gardener of fairy tales” by Claudio Gobbetti was read and the history of writing from the age of the caves to today was presented to the children through power point.

On the second day, the teacher read to the children the book “Von Kourabies vs. Count Melomakaroni” by Kyriakos Charitos and guided the little patrons to make their own kourabies (traditional Christmas pastry)!
On the third day, the children traveled to the Christmas customs of various countries of the world through the book “Christmas in the World” and tasted sweets from Spain, France and Italy.
When leaving, the children borrowed up to 3 books of their choice, accompanied by an activity booklet.
The participation was vast and this gives us great joy, because book is the food for the mind and for the imagination and the habit of the screen threatens it.
Iordana’s successful effort was supported by the manager of the municipal library, Christina Bakali.
