THE TRAIL

A unique passage through the rare juniper forests of Prespa, the remains of the Civil War fortifications, Agia Varvara’s chapel and the unique viewpoints in between leads to the top of Mount Devas, where the hiker can enjoy the panoramic view of the area.

One of the most interesting locations is certainly the centuries-old cedar (juniper) forest of Agios Georgios at the starting point of the trail. The existence of these beautiful and huge trees is one of the many reasons why the juniper forests of Prespa are a particularly rare phenomenon and therefore, according to European legislation, enjoy a special protection status.

STARTING POINT

The chapel of Agios Georgios, at the highest point of the road from Koula to Psarades.
