The last month of summer in Prespa always has two characteristics: cool weather and artistic events!
This year, things are different, as the temperature is expected to be higher than in other years and the cultural calendar has been unexpectedly enriched.
The well-known “Prespia” (August 19-27) has scheduled concerts and events in Florina and Amyntaio, while the main event, planned for Saturday, August 23, will take place on the island of Agios Achilleios. The concert is dedicated to Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis, with the participation of the “Mikis Theodorakis” Orchestra, Vasilis Lekkas, Rita Antonopoulou, and Panagiotis Petrakis.
The TRIETHNÉS International Music Festival will premiere from August 28 to 31 at selected locations in Prespa National Park. As stated on the official website of the event, “the TRIETHNÉS International Music Festival envisions a future where the power of music and art transcends borders, promoting unity, dialogue, and collective creation among different communities. Based in the culturally rich and environmentally unique region of Prespa, the festival aspires to become a beacon of cooperation, cultural diplomacy, and sustainability in the Balkans and beyond.”
The festival’s program, which was recently announced, demonstrates the values and vision of its creators. Read more here.
