Thank you for the memories and best of luck in your career!

The basketball academy Shooters, present in Prespa since 2012, bid farewell to the girls’ team on Saturday, June 27th. This year marked their final season playing under the Shooters’ banner, as they now move on to the next chapters of their lives.

The graduation ceremony for the Shooters’ girls’ team took place in the presence of local authorities, youth, and parents of Prespa. Emotional speeches were delivered by Mayor Panagiotis Paschalidis, coach Mimis Markopoulos, and Vera Paraskevopoulou, a physical education teacher representing the parents. The team played a friendly match and received commemorative jerseys.

The girls’ team was formed eight years ago at the request of the children themselves and honored their choice with a strong presence in the Western Macedonia championship, consistently achieving top positions in its rankings over the years. One could say that its journey, supported by the academy and parents, has established a basketball tradition in Prespa.

Since 2018, the Poliprespa program has supported the operations of the sports academy by covering travel expenses for games within and outside Prespa, purchasing training equipment and uniforms, and significantly covering costs for the team’s participation in friendly tournaments outside the Florina region. Since 2019, the program has also supported the voluntary work of the assistant coach of the academy, covering travel expenses to train the junior team, ensuring the future of the team in Prespa.
