Economy – Promotion of Agricultural Products
Prespa and its products were honored for three days in Thessaloniki, from Wednesday 29/08/2018 to Friday 31/08/2018. Against the backdrop of the White Tower of Thessaloniki, the Municipality of Prespa, along with local organizations, organized an information campaign about the region and its products.
The goal of the initiative was twofold: firstly, to inform the people of Thessaloniki about Prespa, the region, its landmarks, and the activities visitors can engage in; and secondly, to introduce them to the products of the Prespa region, particularly the beans and fish from the lakes.
Thursday 30/08/2018 at 7:30 pm, traditional Prespa dishes were offered to the people of Thessaloniki and the city’s visitors at the booth area. Visitors were transported mentally to the region through the melodies of the brass bands of Prespa and local traditional dances presented by the dance groups of the “Cultural Association of Prespa Residents.”
Saturday 1/9/2018, the events moved to Prespa where the Bean and Trout Festival took place in Laimos, at the park in front of the Town Hall. The festival featured traditional dishes based on the famous Prespa beans and delicious trouts, along with songs and dances of the region, and, of course, traditional Prespa hospitality.
