Tα Πρεσπιώτικα Χριστούγεννα

With the support of the Poliprespa program, festive events were held this year, attracting dozens of visitors from all over Greece.

On Christmas Eve, the Cultural Association of Agios Germanos organized events in the namesake village for young children. Stilt walkers performed “magical” games, and Santa Claus, along with mischievous elves, handed out gifts to all the children! That same evening, a fire was lit in the village square, and attendees enjoyed local, traditional delicacies prepared by the village women.

Four days later, on December 28, the local “Fasoli-Tsironi” festival was held for the fourth year since its revival. The event began in the village of Agios Germanos, with a brass band parading through the village alleys, following the “architectural path,” accompanied by locals and visitors. The procession ended in the square, where bean soup and hot wine were served. The celebration continued in the nearby village of Laimos, where a traditional fire was lit in front of the Town Hall. Attendees enjoyed hot bean soup, freshly fried tsironia, wine, music, and dancing. Despite the cold and snowfall, the festivities lasted for hours, filled with a festive spirit and great enthusiasm!

The festival was organized by the Cultural Association of Prespiots and the Social Cooperative Enterprise “Nature & Culture,” in collaboration with the Municipality of Prespa, the Public Benefit Enterprise of Prespa, and the Cultural Association of Lefkona.
