The conservation laboratory of the Byzantine Collection is now fully operational

The Byzantine Collection building will soon be ready to welcome visitors after the transfer of exhibits from the Florina Museum. Additionally, since the summer of 2020, an antiquities conservation laboratory has been operating within the museum space. Specifically, the stone house in the courtyard of the Byzantine Collection building in Agios Germanos, which had served as a storage space for years, has been transformed into a fully equipped laboratory for the conservation of Byzantine relics through the Poliprespa program.

Many significant findings have been transferred from Florina to Prespa and are now being preserved with the latest technology, beginning a new cycle of life in the place where they were discovered. The next step is to arrange the spaces of the main building to host these treasures and open the exhibition to the public.
